Things to Do in Nashville This Weekend (Oct. 30–Nov. 1, 2026)

Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, which means the best things to do in Nashville this weekend are stacked three deep from Friday afternoon through Sunday night. Halloween is Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, so costumes, candy and parades all hit on the same day instead of being split across a school night. I have driven most of these towns on a Saturday in October — Murfreesboro's square, Franklin's Main Street, Lebanon's Fiddlers Grove — and this is the weekend they all show off at once.

One practical note before you plan anything: daylight saving time ends early Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026. Clocks fall back one hour at 2 a.m. local time, so 2 a.m. becomes 1 a.m. and you get an extra hour of sleep (Old Farmer's Almanac, October 2026). Sunset also arrives an hour earlier Sunday evening, which matters if you were counting on daylight for a farm visit.

Please confirm times and tickets before you go — Halloween schedules change late, and a few of these sell out.

Friday, Oct. 30: Trick-or-Treating Starts Early

Rutherford County gets the jump on everybody. Trick or Treat Around the Historic Rutherford County Square runs 3–5 p.m. Friday on the Public Square in downtown Murfreesboro, with merchants handing out candy. It is free, it is early, and it is a good warm-up for Saturday.

Downtown, Nashville Yards hosts a free, dog-friendly Halloween night with an Xfinity Movie Night screening of Hocus Pocus on the lawn at 21 Platform Way S. The listing is free and open to the public with an RSVP, but it does not post a start time — check the RSVP link the morning of.

In Williamson County, the Franklin Theatre turns its FEAR FEST series loose for the final two nights. Friday brings The Rocky Horror Picture Show at 6 p.m. and a Child's Play midnight screening at 11:59 p.m. Saturday is a full day: Coco at 10 a.m., Beetlejuice at 1:30 p.m., Obsession at 5 p.m., Halloween at 8:30 p.m. and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre at 11:59 p.m. That 10 a.m. Coco showing is the one I would point a car seat toward.

Two big Friday concerts: Neko Case & Allison Russell play the Ryman Auditorium at 7 p.m., and Zach Top brings the Cold Beer & Country Music Tour to Bridgestone Arena with Lukas Nelson, doors for an 8 p.m. show (JamBase, October 2026).

Saturday, Oct. 31: Halloween in Nashville, Franklin, Lebanon and Greenbrier

Start outside if you can. Saturday is the last day of the season for Shuckle's Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch at Fiddle Dee Farms in Greenbrier, open 10 a.m.–8 p.m. at $18.22 plus tax, with $2 off after 5 p.m. and ages 2 and under free. Daily attendance is capped and tickets sell online in advance, so do not plan on walking up.

Cheekwood hosts its 27th annual El Día de los Muertos Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., included with general admission. Friday–Sunday garden admission runs $23 for adults and $16 for youth ages 3–17, plus a $2 per-ticket service fee and $5 parking; entry is timed and reserved ahead. Sunday is also the final day of Cheekwood Harvest, the six-week festival that opened Sept. 19.

The Nashville Predators host the Tampa Bay Lightning at Bridgestone Arena at 1 p.m. — an unusual Halloween matinee that leaves the whole evening free. In Wilson County, Halloween in the Grove runs 2:30–4 p.m. at Fiddlers Grove Historic Village, 945 E. Baddour Pkwy. in Lebanon, with trick-or-treating through the village; the chamber's listing shows vendor and sponsor pricing rather than an admission price, so call ahead at 615-444-5503.

East Nashville's All Hallows East takes over Five Points from 4–10 p.m. with costume contests, a pet costume contest, live music and food. It is free with advance registration, and the contests require separate sign-up with limited slots. Over in 12 South, the 12 South Halloween Parade lines up at 5:45 p.m. at Halcyon and 9th and steps off at 6 p.m. along Halcyon and Montrose avenues. Free, all ages.

For something quieter, the Ryman Haunted History Tour runs 6–8 p.m. Saturday, with groups leaving every 15 minutes for a 45-minute walk through the building's stranger stories, capped at 25 people per group.

Residential trick-or-treat windows are set neighborhood by neighborhood here, not countywide. I could not find a published citywide hour for Franklin, Hendersonville or Gallatin for 2026, so check your own city or HOA page rather than assuming the time your old town used.

Sunday, Nov. 1: Soccer, Candy's Last Call and an Extra Hour

Nashville SC hosts the New York Red Bulls at GEODIS Park at 3:30 p.m. Central. The match was originally set for Oct. 31 and moved to Sunday, with Apple TV carrying the broadcast — so if you saw an older Halloween date, that is why.

Boo at the Zoo closes out its run Sunday, 5–9 p.m., doubling as Día de los Muertos Night. Tickets are $23 for ages 2 and up, under 2 free but still ticketed, parking $10. The zoo has posted sold-out notices this season and does not accommodate walk-ups, so buy before you drive to Nolensville Pike.

Sunday night at Bridgestone Arena, Three Days Grace brings the Alienation Tour with I Prevail and The Funeral Portrait, 7 p.m. (Nashville Guru, October 2026).

On the football front: the Titans are on the road Sunday at the Cincinnati Bengals, 1 p.m. Eastern (noon Central) on CBS — an away game, so no Nissan Stadium traffic. Vanderbilt has an open date Oct. 31, so West End is quiet too.

Haunted Attractions Still Open

Nashville Nightmare in Madison is selling tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, with general admission starting at $34.99 and tiers up to a Platinum pass. The attraction is at 1016 Madison Square and does not publish nightly hours on its site, so go by the time on your ticket. South in Maury County, Millers Thrillers at 1431 Carters Creek Pike in Columbia lists Oct. 31 as an early-open night at 6 p.m., with the Entertainment Zone at $15, Hillbilly Hollar at $30, the Zombie Paintball Hayride at $25 and a $45 combo pass. Both are intense; neither is a stroller night.

What Halloween Weekend Shows You About a Neighborhood

I will say this gently, because nobody wants a sales pitch between the candy and the costume contest. Halloween weekend is the most honest tour of a neighborhood you will ever get for free. Sidewalk width, how the streets connect, whether porches face each other, how far it is to the next cul-de-sac, where people park when a whole block shows up at once — you learn more about 12 South, Five Points, downtown Franklin or the streets around Fiddlers Grove in two hours on Oct. 31 than in a month of scrolling listings. If you are weighing Davidson against Williamson, Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson or Maury County, walk the ones on your short list this Saturday night and pay attention to what you notice.

And if you are moving to Middle Tennessee next spring, this is the weekend to take notes. I am happy to tell you what I know about any of these areas, whether or not you are ready to look at houses.
